Great weather, great skiing, great town ... GREAT TRIP!  We didn't have a lot of fresh snow during the week at Jackson, but that meant plenty of sunshine and corduroy groomers to cruise down.

For those who wished for more powder, the trip to Grand Targhee on Tuesday definitely fit the bill!  What a day we had there - snow, snow and more snow!  It just doesn't get any better than that - definitely worth the 2 hour bus trip from Jackson.

Thursday was great day to take the Tram to the top, with plenty of sunshine and a few inches of fresh powder.  I really enjoyed skiing over to take a look at Corbet's Couloir and watching (from a safe distance) as someone pushed off and made the 35 foot plunge down the chute.  After that, we made our way over to the Rendezvous Bowl and found a saner way to reach the bottom.

Marshall Montenegro, Darryl Ciucci and David Conklin were supposed to have a regular room at the hotel with two beds and a pullout sofa, but when they got there, the hotel advised that a couple had requested that room for their 10th anniversary, so instead they were given a two bedroom house with a kitchen and a living room with a fireplace!  They graciously offered to have everyone over one night for a party, so Gerard and Darlene jumped in and organized a dinner for everyone on Thursday night.  Thanks Marshall, Darryl and David for having us over and thanks Gerard and Darlene for organizing everything and picking everything up!

The only bad part of the trip was the flight home.  When we got to the airport, we were advised that our flight to Salt Lake City was cancelled (turned out it wasn't) and we had to be re-routed to Atlanta.  After waiting on line for over 2 hours for Delta to get us all checked in and enduring misinformation and conflicting instructions from the gate agents, there were a lot of cranky travelers in our group!  After finally getting to the gate, I noticed a message on my cell phone - it was from Gerard and Darlene, who had traveled separately and weren't returning home until Sunday.  The message was "it's nukin' on the mountain" - apparently a new term that means tons of fresh snow falling.  So it seems we missed the big snow by one day - oh well, I guess timing is everything.
