• In NY: Learn to ski or ride for free or at a 50% discount depending on the mountain, see listings at www.learnasnowsport.com
• In Vermont - Vermont ski resorts open up their doors to first-time skiers and riders for FREE lessons, rentals and lift tickets. The week of January 4-11, 2009 has been designated for the Ski Vermont New Year’s Resolution program. First time skiers and snowboarders are invited to sign up to learn to ski or ride at their favorite resort any time during this week – for FREE. The program is open to all beginner skiers and snowboarders ages 6 and up. Packages include lessons, rentals and a limited terrain lift ticket. Registration will begin in mid Dec. • In Pennsylvania: January 8, 2009 is designated as learn to ski/board day. A complete package to take a new slider or rider from lodge to lift will cost only $10 with all proceeds going to local charities. For information and registration visit the website at www.skipa.com/learn2skiday.htm
